Who are you closest to in your family and why?
My Dad. We talk almost every day. He is curious about my life, never has any judgements, and has wisdom to share. He is a very supportive and sweet parent.
-
What was the defining moment that made you choose your field of study/career path?
When I learned about the realities of America’s food system and the ways in which it’s corrupt, I wanted to learn more and go into social justice.

If you could tell the intended parents who are considering you one thing, what would it be?
In all honesty, I am truly blessed with the genes I’ve been dished. The women in my family are all beautiful, we have a “young” gene (my Mom is 58 and she looks 35), thick hair and great skin runs in the family, everyone is athletic and can easily get in shape, and there are no health problems.

What are your favorite words to live by?
“If you suddenly and unexpectedly feel joy, don’t hesitate. Give in to it. There are plenty of lives and whole towns destroyed or about to be. We are not wise, and not very often kind. And much can never be redeemed. Still, life has some possibility left. Perhaps this is its way of fighting back, that sometimes something happens better than all the riches or power in the world. It could be anything, but very likely you notice it in the instant when love begins. Anyway, that’s often the case. Anyway, whatever it is, don’t be afraid of its plenty. Joy is not made to be a crumb.” Mary Oliver

Where do you see yourself in ten years?
I see myself buying a lot of land in rural New York or Maine, fixing up a little farmhouse, homesteading by growing food and raising animals, and building out a barn to use for events. I would like this space to be shared with others, whether it could operate as an artist residency, or I can become a venue manager and have weddings there.
