Why do you want to become an egg donor?
I want to be an egg donor because I feel like it is such a special gift to give to someone who want to have a baby. Everyone should get to experience the beautiful process of life and pregnancy. I work as a perinatal high risk OB sonographer and most of my patients are IVF with egg donors or surrogates and it makes my heart so happy that they get to experience this gift and I want to be able to help.

Anything special you'd like to tell us about you?
I am 23 years old and have a huge heart. I am very ambitious and am always looking for new challenges or things to do, I love to keep busy. I am very outgoing and can pretty much make friends everywhere I go. I have a very creative mind and love doing crafts. I started my prerequisites at a community college right out of high school in northern california so that I could apply for my sonography program. I got into the program when I was 20, then graduated with high honors at 22 and just moved to San Diego at 23 and landed my dream Job at UCSD. One of my strengths is when I put my mind to something I always find a way to accomplish that goal, I am very driven. I also was a nanny for 6 years prior to starting my ultrasound program. I absolutely loved it and still keep in touch with those families.

Who are the most important people in your life?
My dad is one of the most important people in my life. He has been my cheerleader on the sideline cheering me on through life and I would not be where I am without him. My mom is another important person in my life who has been my biggest role model and has taught me life skills that have made me the ambitious independent woman I am today. Also, my little sister, who has been there through everything. Getting to grow up together and always having one another to count on has been the best blessing.
-
What are your special talents?
One of my special talents is painting! I absolutely love to paint all sorts of things but mostly ocean and beach paintings. I also love making jewelry and actually started a jewelry business when I was 19 and it has now become more than I ever imagined it to be. Another special talent would be surfing. It is one of my favorite things to do. I love the ocean.
-
What is the one change you wish to see in the world?
One thing I wish to see change in the world is bringing more awareness to other countries that don't have clean water to drink or food to eat. We are so blessed here in the US with clean water and most countries are so poor that they do not even have clean water to drink and children and adults are dying every day. I know they did come up with a water filter recently to ship out to those countries to help but I just wish there was awareness to this situation.
-
What would you consider to your greatest strengths?
My greatest strength would definitely be how driven I am. Whenever I put my mind to something I make it happen. Another strength would be my compassion. I would do anything for a friend or anyone who needed help.

Describe your own personality to us
I am very Independent in the sense that I do not rely on anyone for anything. I am very outgoing and love making new friends and doing new things. As a person, I believe that life is a beautiful crazy adventure and I try to keep it full of colors and cheerful no matter what life throws at me. I'm an extrovert and love traveling and experiencing new cultures and traditions. Though my greatest trait is my ambition, that comes with me being too hard on myself sometimes which is probably my weakness. I always strive to go above and beyond and give 100% in everything I do.

Who are you closest to in your family and why?
I am closest to my dad and I think that is because my dad has been my number one supporter throughout my life. He has always given so much love and his words of motivation have strengthened me in ways that have shaped me into who I am today. Not to mention he is the funniest person in the whole world and I know I can always go to him whenever I am feeling down and he will cheer me up.

What was the defining moment that made you choose your field of study/career path?
At a young age, I always knew that I wanted to be In healthcare. I thought about going into nursing but I know how competitive it was so I started researching other medical field jobs. Once I started reading about Ultrasound I knew that it is what I wanted to do. I think it is absolutely amazing how advanced technology has gotten and we are able to catch so many early diagnoses now with ultrasound. I have a huge love for babies and children so I knew I wanted to do something in the field that revolved around fetal and infant care. So when I was in my Ultrasound program I did my internship at a Maternal-Fetal care clinic and absolutely fell in love with scanning pregnant women and babies. I knew that If I was going to choose this career It would be important and my life would have a purpose. My purpose was to take care of my patients and make sure mom and baby are healthy.

Impressions from Elevate
This donor has such a warm, infectious spirit it is hard not to smile the entire time you speak to her. She is so passionate about her job, which is really amazing because that was one of the defining factors that made her decide to become an egg donor- to help people like her patients. She is really excited to be able to give someone the gift of a child because she loves kids and her family is so important to her.
