Why do you want to become an egg donor?
I would like to help families who want a family and are experiencing difficultyfertility challenges to help them make a family for their own.
-
Anything special you'd like to tell us about you?
Biologically, I believe I won a genetic jackpot. I have very little genetic-related disorders mental or physical health challenges throughout my family. Both my grandparent sets have lived super well into their life - and beyond that have lived in their 80s and 90s with independence, mobility, and have lived incredibly joyful lives. I was an intellectually blessed child always the head of my class, winning “student of the month” records in elementary school, and have blossomed into a smart, athletic, and thoughtful adult and conscientious citizen. I would like a donor family to have access to the same intellectual, biological, and physical gifts I was privileged to experience in part due to my genetics.2) As a mature adult woman, I have done enough self reflection, introspection and self work to understand that donating biology does not mean family and understand the boundaries around that. I am respectful, mature, and am making this important decision in good faith. I’m dependable, responsible, communicative, and self-aware to ensure I’m making the best decisions at the moment and able to work with and be supportive of a wide variety of people who may become the parents of my donated oocyte.3) Psychologically, I am equipped with a Masters in Social Work and understand the nuances of attachment theory, feelings of belongings, and the understandable curiosity to want to explore one’s own identity. This would make me an ideal candidate to be a supportive, stable, thoughtful resource of any potential egg donor children if they are curious to meet their donor or have a relationship with them in the future.

My mother I'm closest to she has always been a rock to me and has taught me so much in humility, joy, generosity, and living a full, awesome life. She is always up for an adventure too!

What was the defining moment that made you choose your field of study/career path?
Having immigrant grandparents from Ukraine led me to be deeply curious about structures of power in modern society and how we consent (and rebel) from relating to those systems of powers. Collective decision making with limited and co-established resources, in different systems with different guardrails, norms, cultural contexts is a fascinating topic to me.
