Why do you want to become an egg donor?
I think it's a really fulfilling experience to be able to help someone in such a unique and impactful way. With this opportunity, I could potentially be changing the lives of multiple people, and that is the greatest privilege imaginable. The choice to become a parent is a deeply personal and emotional one. I love children and hope to have my own someday; if I could help someone else live that dream too, that is satisfaction enough for me. Reproductive health and autonomy is vital to our society, and the the ability to choose and have options for your family's future is an incredibly important moment for any parent-to-be. Being a part of this process is not just an emotionally fulfilling exercise, but also a fascinating glimpse into an aspect of the healthcare system that I've not yet participated in.

Who are the most important people in your life?
I am very close to my father, who is a yoga instructor at the studio I practice at. He has always been the most supportive and loving figure in my life. We FaceTime daily. He's the person who instilled in me a love of literature from a young age, and I'm eternally grateful to him for giving me two lifelong hobbies that I can share with him.I am also very close with my grandmother; I'm one of several dozen relatives, but she and I have always put a lot of effort into remaining in contact and visiting one another often. I firmly believe it is important that we respect our elders and their experiences, and that we should keep them engaged in our lives. Aging is a privilege not everyone gets to experience, and every story and moment with her is very special to me. Family is so important to me, and she is the backbone of my existence and my family's happy relationship with one another. My roommate is also my best friend; being in such close proximity with her makes the most mundane task fun and every day feel like a slumber party. She brings out the best in me and teaches me so many little things every day because we grew up very differently

What is the one change you wish to see in the world?
I really yearn to live in a society that really values public education. I think people should be able to pursue education as far as they'd desire, and have the resources to pursue their interests and education in a safe environment. I wish public libraries were treated more like community centers and utilized better. A well-educated society is a more successful, driven, and fulfilled society. I believe the more knowledge we acquire, the better we treat ourselves and others, and the further we can progress as a species. People deserve to be given all the opportunities they can fathom to study their interests, pursue fulfillment, hone their imaginations, and achieve career success.
-
What would you consider to your greatest strengths?
An inquisitive spirit, an open heart, and a malleable mind. I make friends everywhere I go with all kinds of people. I am appreciative of others and genuinely interested in them. I have a huge network of wonderful friends that have so much to offer and introduce me to all sorts of experiences.I am generous but I'm not a pushover; I'm an excellent judge of character. I'm very diplomatic and can generally soothe disagreements.

What is your favorite dish to consume?
It changes every few months, but an enduring favorite is bhindi masala, which is an Indian okra dish. I'm currently trying to master cooking it as well!
-
What is something you've accomplished in life that you are most proud of?
My graduate degree. I recognize the privilege of being able to achieve that, but I think pursuing my education has far as I have (and will hopefully continue to) has made me a better critical thinker and a more empathetic person. Graduate school was arduous but also a really fun experience, and I gained a lot of perspective being there and was exposed to a lot of people and concepts I would not have otherwise interacted with.

What is a book you love?
Clan of the Cave Bear by Jean M. Auel. It is an epic work of prehistoric fiction, following a Cro-Magnon girl in her interactions with a Neanderthal society about 30,000 years BCE. It's incredibly beautifully written and the body of research is staggering in scope. I reread it every few years and am stunned every time. The author attended archaeology conventions and toured actual archeological sites in order to confer with experts when she was writing the book. It's also a series, but the first book is simply phenomenal and warrants a frequent reread, despite the density of subject matter.I also love Howl's Moving Castle, by Diana Wynne Jones. It's a children's fantasy novel and I wrote my graduate thesis on it!

How would other people describe you?
Most people would describe me as: bubbly and friendly; generous, and adventurous; earnest and helpful. It has been said that I'm a good conversationalist, a great listener, and a loyal friend. I've been called fun, smart, respectful, and compassionate, diplomatic, self-sacrificing, and consistent, as well as outgoing and easy-going - usually ready for any kind of activity someone wants to do, and willing to compromise to make others happy.

Describe your own personality to us
I feel that I'm more introspective and philosophical than I let on most of the time. I can be a little bit vain. I'm very passionate about my hobbies and am definitely a great communicator. I'm intellectually in touch with my emotions and why I respond to certain stimuli, which gives me the ability to be cool-headed in sticky situations. I like to be the person who will go the extra mile and who will do anything for anyone. (I jokingly call it the "3AM airport pick-up friend.")I also like to think I'm fairly charming, and I can be a bit of a social butterfly. I would describe myself as an introvert despite that; I really appreciate my time alone and enjoy relaxing as much as I enjoy more strenuous activities. I'm a chameleon that can adapt to almost any social situation if I'm adequately prepared.

Who are you closest to in your family and why?
I'm really close to my maternal cousin, Kelsey. We worked together for years and we traveled to Ireland together in 2018! She and I have a similar sense of humor and grew up in the same neighborhood. She's a few years older than me so I view her as a mentor in some ways. We have a lot of adventures together. Shared experiences are the backbone of our bond, but it is funny to see how many mannerisms we have in common with one another and our individual parents.

What was the defining moment that made you choose your field of study/career path?
I don't think there was a single moment. I think it was a lifetime of choices, of cultivating a passion that was passed down to me by my parents, who both had massive book cases with an open-borrow policy. I was exposed to a lot of ideas and subject matter early on. My 'field of study' is... studying. The best part about reading and literature is that it is a field of study that exposes you to a myriad of concepts, life paths and careers. You can read books about magical worlds, or romance, or science fiction, or nonfiction essays. There are protagonists that are scientists, laborers, aliens, magical beings, from the past, from the future, and the authors are just as diverse in age and experience as the protagonists I'm reading about. There is so much in the world to learn about, and literature is one of the primary gateways there. There are so many stories in the world that need to be heard or read, and I am slowly trying to make my way through them.

If you could tell the intended parents who are considering you one thing, what would it be?
That I am so happy to even be considered and to be a part of their journey in any way, and I take my health and this role extremely seriously, and will show up for them.

Places you'd love to travel
Alaska, Thailand, and Spain.

What are your favorite words to live by?
Marcus Aurelius: "How much more grievous are the consequences of anger than the causes of it." Which is really a fancy way of saying that a moment of restraint in a heated moment or a stressful situation saves a lot of grief in the long run. As a person who is very careful and thinks everything through, it really put to words the way I live my life. I don't like to argue or get heated, and I think nothing is more valuable than patience, particularly in a stressful moment.
