Why do you want to become an egg donor?
I started considering egg donation after watching an online ad. The ad was focused on egg donation for gay men who wanted to start a family, but adoption was not the right option for them. This caught my attention because my best friend, one of the most important people in my life, is a gay male who may someday be in the same situation. I thought to myself, “if he wanted to have kids with his future partner I’d hope he’d have plenty of options for prospective donors... I should be helping families in that situation now!” I talked to my friends and family about my decision to donate and they are very supportive in my choice and proudly stand behind me. With they’re approval and support, I know this is the right choice for me. Ethically I believe that egg donation is completely justifiable. I am currently not using my eggs and I don’t plan to for a few more years. The way I see it, I’m just losing them each month anyways when I could instead be bringing joy to a family in need. My egg donation will cost me nothing but will mean the world to someone else. Using this logic, becoming a donor is the obvious choice for me.

Anything special you'd like to tell us about you?
I've recently graduated with my Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology from the University of Central Florida. I am currently working as a therapist at a Baker Act facility in Orlando, helping patients with suicidal ideations, homicidal ideations and/or severe psychosis. I also have experience working children with developmental disabilities and women recovering from substance use disorders. I have worked in a human factors research laboratory which resulted in our “Predicting Mobile Mental Telehealth Usability Based on Individual Differences” poster being entered at Human Factors & Applied Psychology Student Conference 2015. I have been a teaching assistant for both Cognitive Behavioral Psychology and Statistical Method in Psychology. My graduate GPA was 4.0 and my undergraduate GPA was 3.98 so I graduated with the Cum Laude honors distinction. On a more personal note, I am fun-loving and excitement-driven. Parasailing, zip-lining, rock climbing, and skydiving are just some of the stimulating activities I do in my free time. I also love escape rooms, the gym, and am a bit of a movie buff. I'm a huge animal lover and human rights advocate.

Who are the most important people in your life?
My family members are the most important people in my life. Family is my priority and I make every effort to see them as frequently as I can. I also have a few very close friends who are extremely important to me.
-
What are your special talents?
I'd say I'm pretty proficient in yoga due to my high flexibility. While art is not my passion, I also believe I'm good at drawing and creating stuffed animals through crochet. I'd like to think my biggest talent is getting people to feel comfortable and open up with me, which I find to be a necessary talent when you're a therapist.
-
What is the one change you wish to see in the world?
As a therapist, one change I would really love to see would be to eliminate the stigma surrounding mental health issues. I want to live in a world where people are not afraid to speak out about what they're feeling and can seek help without fears of people finding out.
-
What would you consider to your greatest strengths?
My greatest strength is my ability to feel empathy and compassion for other people (and animals). I'm dependable, loving, and open-minded. Most people I know would also describe me as highly conscientious and hard working.
-
What is your favorite dish to consume?
I love super sugary desserts, my favorites are probably brownies and cake.
-
What is something you've accomplished in life that you are most proud of?
My biggest accomplishment is the growth I've seen in my clients. There's nothing like being able to help someone who has been experiencing extreme anxiety and depression get back on their feet and want to live life again. I am so proud to work in a career where I feel like I've helped others on a daily basis.
-
What is a book you love?
I'm a big Stephen King fan, some of my favorites from him are: 11/22/63, Misery, and The Stand.
-
How would other people describe you?
A lot of people have described me as organized (to a fault), caring, and intelligent.
-
Describe your own personality to us
As I have previously noted, I'm a very conscientious and ambitious person. I'm empathetic and try to help others whenever I can. I would consider myself to be pretty optimistic and agreeable, but I'm also not afraid to stand up for myself and others if I feel rights are being violated. I'm a bit of an introvert but I'm not shy. I'm also very open to new experiences and ideas.

Books you are currently reading
Currently I am reading "The Lost World" (Jurassic Park #2) and "Treating Addiction: A Guide for Professionals"

Who are you closest to in your family and why?
I'm assuming we're talking about biological family so I won't consider my husband in this.I'd say I'm closest to my sister and my father. My sister and I are extremely close and talk almost every day. We have different hobbies and personalities yet I believe we compliment each other nicely. My father is my rock and I love him so much. He's always there for me and just overall a great person.
-
What was the defining moment that made you choose your field of study/career path?
I'm not sure if there was one defining moment, I feel more it was a general wanting to help people and seeking a path that would help me accomplish that goal.
-
If you could tell the intended parents who are considering you one thing, what would it be?
That whether you choose me as your donor or someone else, I wish you the best of luck with your future family!

Places you'd love to travel

-
Where do you see yourself in ten years?
I'm hoping to continue in my current profession as a mental health therapist, but I have also considered returning to graduate school and pursuing my doctoral degree. In ten years I also plan to be raising a family with my loving husband.

Impressions from Elevate
At first she seems all business. She is incredibly accomplished academically and now is a working professional in her field of clinical psychology. She was incredibly prompt in all of our correspondence and when it came time to meet her, she was once again ready and on time. Then I began to speak to her and I was introduced to a person who is filled with compassion for others. As a clinical psychologist she is someone whose goal is to help others, and her motivations for being an egg donor are similar. She is extremely kind and is someone who values her relationships. She is beautiful inside and out.
